If you signed up for MyBlogLog, then you also know that anytime you visit someones blog that is also signed up on MyBlogLog, your picture will show up under the recent readers every single time you visit their blog.

Now, I didn't really care for this option.  Sometimes, I just wanted to pop in and see what new post someone wrote or maybe check back to see what other comments were made on a post that I commented on, and I don't want my face to show up every time I go to that blog!!

So I was getting irritated at this, because it was kind of like sneaking in and getting caught.  I didn't like it.  So I was trying to delete my account with them, when I came across this nifty little feature!  You can basically "hide" and your picture won't show up anymore when you go to their blogs!  HA HA HA!!!

How do you fix it?  Sign on to your MyBlogLog account, then click on edit profile at the top of the screen, now scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen and the last question is "Opt-out of data collection".  Change this to yes.  Click update my profile and you are all set!  I did have to do this twice before it finally worked.

Go test it out on someone that has a MyBlogLog on their site and if your picture shows up, go back and do it again.  Then go to someone else's blog to that has it and see if you show up!

So now I can browse all your blogs and not be "seen" if you have this on your blog.  Neener neener neener!!!

Becky, I have a question for you, how can I show many visitors on my blog, instead of just 5 or a few?  I have seen some users they show bunch of last viistors,  I just have it right now at 5,  any clue?

Hi Ray,

If you click on the "get widgets" link under the blog in the section that says "sites and blogs I author", then you can change the number of rows from 5 to up to 10.  I don't know if that also changes how many across either.  I never changed mine.  Guess you could play around with it and see what it does if you switch it to 10.

Hey Beckey, you didn't want to show you pretty face around. Kind of cool to see who stopped by and viewed the blog.

You're welcome Bill.

Jeannette it might work for some, but some also feel like it's more of a "big brother" sort of thing and I heard someone call it a stalking feature...LOL

At any rate, it's a way to still belong to MyBlogLog yet not feel like you are being noticed if you are on someones blog that has one if you don't want to.  Some people like to go incognito.

Nice little trick.  I pop in to many different blogs and then once I see what it really is make the call as to if I am ready to invest the time to read what is there.  sometimes I read the whole thing and just don't have anything to say.

James, that's why I switched mine off.  I do read a lot of blogs, but sometimes don't have anything extra to add.  And sometimes I felt like if they saw me there, that I should of commented.

TLW...send 'em on over!  LOL...
