Ok, things weren't going so well at Living Real Estate Group, one of the great things about be licensed in New York and New Jersey is that I can hedge my bet. I am now based out of New Jersey--Jersey City in fact, but the beautiful thing is that my broker is licensed in New York, so I can also work with clients in New York. I am very psyched, it turns out I should have stuck it out a little longer with my first broker before ultimately moving. But c'est la vie, life goes on right?
Anyway, I am now with DBB Realty in Jersey City, we are right on the harbor, in fact the building used to be the old Sun Young Moon fishing headquarters. Evidently the Reverend would send his fishing boats out from where our office is and they would bring back tons of fish and can them in an adjacent building, all of which eventually lead to him buying REUTERS! I don't know about the last part, but he did buy Reuters right, who knows if it was fish money or not.
The buildings in Jersey City are incredible, great views of Manhattan and pretty good prices. I saw a one bedroom today with 9' ceilings in a doorman building, 2 seconds from the Path train, only $1559 a month. The building is less than 5 years old and was a relatively fancy building. You should have seen the view, it was facing west and would get plenty of natural light. This same setup would be at least $2800-$3000 in NYC! Anyway, wish me luck and let me know when you're coming buy to get your next apartemnt!
