The Battery in Charleston, SC

The Today Show is doing a series on America the Beautiful, the 10 most beautiful cities in America.

And coming up as number 9 is Charleston, SC!  I can't say that I'm surprised at all, but I am quite pleased.

They also stated that we are the most hospitable, but I knew that already!

There hasn't been a single time that I've walked the historic streets of Downtown Charleston and not been greeted by just about every single person who passes by.  It's just what we do here.

I've even spoken to a few New York transplants, and they've adopted this tendency as well.  Once you get a few head nods or "Hello"s, you begin to see yourself doing the same.  It's quite contagious.  And it's part of what makes Charleston the city that it is.

So now the nation has taken notice with the airing of the Today Show's Showcase of Charleston

They also did a little segment on $50 a Day in Charleston.  And they covered more than just eating.  What they don't tell you is that they used a couple of coupons so that they could get in a few additional ventures, but that's our little secret!

Charleston is by far one of America's most beautiful and hospitable cities.  If you've never been here, I urge you to at least take a little trip to our neck of the woods.  Charleston is a city overflowing with romance, history, culture and beauty.

And if you'd like to make Charleston your new home, these two native Charlestonians would love to be of service!

Hi Jim and Maria, I was excited to see Charleston on the Today Show the other morning as well.  I had a trip there planned for Sunday but got tied up with some clients most of the day and couldn't go.  Charleston is the perfect weekend getaway place, especially since it's so close to Myrtle Beach... Have a great week!

Thanks Amy!  And see, that's how we feel about Myrtle Beach :)  Actually, my family has been vacationing in North Myrtle for 20+ years, and we're going up there at the end of this week for 7 days of rest and relaxation!  I can't wait!!

Jim & Maria,

Sorry I missed that Today show segment. Charleston is one of the nearby places we definitely would like to visit.

Something about these beautiful Southern towns that brings out the best in folks. Everyone is so friendly here in Wilmington, even those cranky LOL New Yorkers... I can say that since I was one for over 25 years...LOL! Not the cranky part...Just a New Yorker..LOL!

Ginger: You should definitely take a little trip down to see Charleston.  Your area is beautiful, too, but each place has it's unique characteristics.
