Transform Your Home For Spring and Set The Stage!

Springtime brings lots of sunshine, warmer weather, May showers and plenty of opportunities for home staging. Make the most of this season and prepare you home for sale. Use these fresh updates that are sure to attract potential buyers to your home.
  • Create Curb Appeal- You have an open window when you're selling in the spring; you need to get your yard in shape as quickly as possible to take advantage of the fresh and sunny spring days. Clear winter yard debris, and get frost-resistant plants that won't be affected if a late cold spells and make sure they work in your planting zone. Harmonize with your home's surroundings such as your landscape and other homes in your neighborhood. Coordinate your exterior paint colors with your home's existing features-roof shingles, stone or brick. Remember your home's appeal starts at the curb! Create an unforgettable first impression.
  • Bring the Outdoors In- Spring is a beautiful and colorful season but it is also a fragrant one too. Bring the amazing aroma indoors and add them to your rooms. Scents have a profound effect on mood, so infusing scent into your decor with diffusers, candles, fresh cut plants/flowers, or incense can change the overall feeling of a space and not to mention the natural beauty you have added to your space. Plus, most of the time it doesn't cost you a thing, unless you make a trip to your nursery or local Farmer's Market.
  • Bring On The Spring Season- It's the time to store away those heavy and dark winter flannel comforter and pull out crisp linens with coverlets for color. Bring in the spring with colorful prints or solids in your bedding. Don't forget to add accent pillows for style and comfort.
  • De-clutter Those Closets- OK, stand back and look at your closets....Does your bulky winter clothes take up lots of space and do you have shoes all over the floor? De-clutter your closets and create a roomy place a buyer can envision their personal belongings fitting in. You'll impress buyers with all that space and we all can appreciate lots of closet space.
  • Spruce Up The Entryway- Buy some planters with beautiful seasonal plants and anchor to each side of the door. Consider a new welcome mat if your mat didn't make it through the winter months. Does your entryway have cob webs and does your door need a new coat of paint? Set the stage for your potential buyers, your entryway is the center of attention when buyers first step into your home. Create the right and first impression!
  • No Better Time For Spring Cleaning- Open those windows and let the fresh air in, spruce up your rooms this spring, so clean, clean, clean! A sparkling home will impress buyers and make your home seem even more appealing, not to mention it will make you feel great too.

When preparing your home for the Real Estate market,
think about this....

What season will my home be most desirable?
If you're selling a beach, mountain or lake home, homes will be most in-demand in the early spring and summer months but a ski chalet at a beautiful ski resort would make more buyers bite during wintertime.

Many buyers prefer to move in the spring or summer, the market starts to heat up as early as February. Families with children are eager to buy so they can move during summer vacation, before the new
School year begins.

It's a buyers market, create that unforgettable first impression
for your home this spring.

I can transform your home this spring by "Setting The Stage" in Northeast GA, North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and South Carolina.

Tonia - great points for sellers to consider for sprucing up for spring...I wanted to reblog your post but couldn't because of the reblog button isn't on the blog.  These are great points that I wanted to pass along...maybe next time you could allow us to reblog it?  Anyway, great post.

Lovely post. How did you add the music widget on the right sidebar? I like the Colbie song that accompanies this and the beautiful photos you've  selected! I wish I could reblog this...very nice post.

I'd agree with everything except the scented candles - so many people have allergies (myself included) that strong smells can get them out of a house in a hurry. Air fresheners and candles give me a headache in a very short period of time, so I try to be sensitive to others with the same problem.

Tonia,

Great post and so true. It is really important to "decorate for the season". It creates the experience that we want to have the Buyers experience. I love your pictures.

Hi Cheryl, thank you so much! I love the Colbie song too, just a happy song! The reblog is set now and you should not have any problems. How to create your music. Go to Playlist.com, create your account...start selecting songs you enjoy (I have so many different list set up with them) and then you click to get your code, copy the code into your settings on Activerain and save. It's really easy but let me know if you need further help. I love music and all kinds, it's the feeling and the moment, not so much the artist.

So glad you enjoyed the post on "It's a Buyer's Market Transform Your Home For Spring and Set The Stage", please pass along, I will tell Nada about all the wonderful comments on her photography. She does beautiful work and has sooooooo many pictures!

Have a wonderful weekend! =)

Hi Pam, thanks for the wonderful comment! You do have a point some scented candles are not so great and we certainly don't want to turn away potential buyers but they do make several selections of candles that have a mild scent and unscented, sometimes it's the "setting" that one is trying to create. I personally no not use air fresheners for that very reason because they are too strong for me.

Thanks again for taking to leave your comment, I love hearing feedback from everyone. Have a beautiful weekend! =)

Hi Cari, thank you so much for the kind words! Just love the music too and wish I could put all of play list on here....lol just kidding Activerain couldn't handle all that. You go to Playlist.com and create your account with them, once you have done this...you start selecting music you enjoy by looking up the artist or song title, then click to add the song to your playlist, once you have selected your songs then click to get your code, copy the code into your Activerain settings and save. Let me know if you have trouble and I will walk you through it or give you more detailed information for it. The Playlist website is easy and as long as you know how to copy and paste the code into your Activerain settings you are good to go.

Thanks for the logo feedback, we love it too...we did some research in our market on colors and styles, we wanted to be different and stand out in the crowd in our market. It has worked, and we get so much feedback from customers and Brokers about it. We were lucky to brain storm with 2 graphic designers that are personal friends of ours, we told them what we wanted and they made it happen.

This post is ready to re-blog, sorry it wasn't on your first stop around. Thanks again for your comment and I love your profile picture!

Have a fabulous weekend! =)

Tonia, This is an excellent time to take your advice and really get your home ready.  I see just a few warm days here and the buyers are back out again....Curb appeal is so important to get the buyer IN.   Very nice list to follow, even if we're not selling!

Thanks Jenna for leaving a comment. Some sellers will do it as long as we educate them on the importance of Home Staging and cleaning things up to improve your homes best features. Some sellers don't understand how important little changes can make to their home and those little changes can make such a "WOW" factor. So let's educate as many as we can...Have a wonderful weekend!
