Over the Valentines Day weekend, my wife treated me to a weekend get away at the Akwaaba Mansion in Brooklyn, NY. It was a great weekend and I will write about Akwaaba in a future post.
Friday Evening, we went downtown to the Brooklyn Academy of Music (affectionately known as BAM). While in the neighborhood, we decided to get something to eat. Monique (The Akwaaba Innkeeper) suggested that we try The Smoke Joint. So we did.
When walked in, the atmosphere was lively. This was obviously a local hot spot. No tables were available, so we decided to sit at the bar. We ordered both drinks and dinner at the bar. We both ordered ribs. My wife had cole slaw, mac n cheese and cornbread. I had Greens, Beans and cornbread. When the food arrived, it was absolutely delicious. The ribs were smokey & tender, the sauces available were sweet & spicy. The greens (meatless) had a great flavor, the cole slaw was great...bottom line, it was all good. To top it off, the drinks were poured the way you like them....nice and stiff.
So if you are in Brooklyn and are looking for a great place to eat, The Smoke Joint will not disappoint.
I will write about their sister restaurant Peaches (393 Lewis Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11233) in a future post. Also a great place to eat.
If you know someone or you hear someone mention that they are looking for a home, call me right away 856-685-1677. I promise that I will call them right away and treat them liek a member of my own family. I work with a nationwide network of Top Realtors (inc Hawaii), so my question is not limited to New Jersey.
Thank you for your help.
