The Ventura County St. Patrick's Day Parade takes over Main Street in downtown Ventura for the 22nd time at 10am on Saturday, March 13, 2010. The theme of this year's parade is "Music Makes the World Go 'Round". Zachary Levi, the star of the NBC TV show "Chuck", will be the Grand Marshal. Today (March 4, 2010) is the deadline for any parade entry applications. If you're interested in participating, you can download a form at the Ventura St. Patrick's Day Parade website or you can call Jim Monahan at 643-1356. The participation fee is $25 for all parade entrants.
The parade route follows along Main Street from the San Buenaventura Mission to Chestnut Street. All entrants in the Ventura parade will be judged in different categories, such as Equestrian, Youth Club, Novelty, Commercial Entry, Mayor's Trophy and Most Irish. Just some of the sponors of this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade include Lowe's, Wells Fargo, Ventura County Star, Dargan's Irish Pub & Restaurant, Georgino Development and radio stations News 1520 Talk KVTA, 103.3 The Vibe, The Octopus 95.9, B95.1, 100.7 KHAY Country, Live 105.5 FM and Q104.7.
