I suppose it will not surprise many of you but the foreclosure petitions filed last year (2009) outnumbered those in 2008 in many of the communities in MetroWest, according to the Warren Group which tracks real estate data across New England. In all of Norfolk County, foreclosure petitions jumped by 33.5% from '08 to '09. In Middlesex County, the jump was 23% during the same period. Below is the change in the number of foreclosures in our area.

Medfield and Milford, at least from a statistical standpoint, appear to have turned the corner, appear to have reversed the upward trend. Franklin may be right behind them. Here are a few websites that may help you to view many properties in foreclosure...

www.pasreo.com     Wells Fargo

www.bankofamerica.com  Bank of America

www.homestep.com

www.homepath.com   Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

With unemployment at the current levels, I'm sure banks are hoping for more short sales rather than increase their inventory.
