Photograph of "The World Trade Towers" from Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island

I came across this old photograph taken from Ellis Island with New York City and the "The World Trade Towers" in the back ground.

This photograph was taken around 1982 when I spent one week in Manhattan with John Robert Powers Modeling Agency, and I have no idea who this goofy looking guy is that jumped into the photograph.

I decided to share some of my other photographs that were taken with the photo above. These photographs were taken from small prints I found in a old photo album so there very blurry, but you can get a feel for the moment.

I did go up to the observation deck of the the "The World Trade Towers" and the views of New York City were breath-taking. I never thought in a million years that they would ever be destroyed by Terrorists.

These photos are 28 years old and when I look at them I remember a wonderful fun time in my life.

When I look at this photo (below) it saddens me to think that "The World Trade Towers" are gone!

Neat photos, Robert.  It saddens me that so many seem to have virtually forgotten the enormity of the attacks on U.S. soil already.  I also think it's a national tragedy that the Ground Zero site has yet to be rebuilt.

Thanks for sharing.

If you're not learning, you're not living!

I love this post!  I was flipping through some photos in 2004 and found a pic of myself that my mom took of me on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and there are the Twin Towers in the back made me cry.  I was there in August 1999 and remember being in awe of them.

Robert does appreciate all the comments and as I have stated in the post and some comments the time I spent in Manhattan & N.Y.C. was a very, very fun time in my life. We were going to discos where (John Bulushi & Robin Williams) were partying. Some nights I sported a muscle T-shirt and a neck tie, and I was lying on the floor squirming on the dance floor like a worm or a person having a seizure while (John & Robin) viewed me from their party rooms. Yes I was a "Wild & Crazy Guy"

We would dance till the sun would start rising and then go to breakfast. And I still think it is very strange that I spent time in "The World Trade Towers" and surrounding buildings and now there gone, it's like a mirage or a bad dream of loss.

I will be visiting Manhattan this year some time with Nu Nu and spending time at "Ground Zero" and share the pain with other Americans from around the country.

Bob, thanks for those photos. I am still here in NY and drove past Ground Zero today on my way to the Southern District Supreme Court in lower Manhattan. The towers used to be sort of a compass for my wife when she was walking in the city; the sadness remains with us.
