Can I google you?

"Some suggest "Googling" prospective hires for some insight on their marketing efforts.  Why? A real estate professional must market both himself or herself and the properties they sell. If the Google search turns up very little on an agent, there's a problem. Either the agent does not self-promote or does not have listings which effectively promoted on the Web. If the agent cannot promote himself or herself, how well will your home be marketed?"  Reality Times.

I could not have said it better.  If you can't market yourself - then what are you going to market?  Yes, our jobs are to market the homes we sell, but more importantly if you are not promoting yourself you are missing the boat.  I have listed homes, because they found me.  My firm that I work for has listed homes because they found us.  Its a proven fact.

Remember you are self employed, what you do to promote you will affect your business.  You need to make sure that the marketing you draw to yourself is good, concise and will hold water.  Its all about you and yes - let them google you -

They all want to be googled..

They all know about rankings

They know about seo..

I want potential customers to google. I tell them to. It is a very good way for them to get to know me. And hopefull once I have planted the seed they will google the ones I'm competing with as well.

Maureen - Ugh I have tried fixing those links like four times and nada.  http://activerain.com/action/search/search_results?searchfields=blogs&search=google&commit=Search keeps redirecting to the AR front page.  Quite tricky.

Alexander - Its amazing right.  I think that all sellers should google a person.  Heck - I even google my sons friends so I can see who and what they are like - I betcha Mrs. Clever had google back in the day - she would have be shocked about eddie Hasscle.

Margaret - Realty Times puts out some good information.  I agree with you - all MD sellers should start with you too.. I know I would!

Bryant - I think most of your clients know that there is not much competition in your area..  :>
