Lovely picture. I've seen old chimneys left standing around here, also.

Lee and Carol, looks a mighty fine and sturdy fireplace.  I've seen some in the Williamsburg, VA., area standing alone.

Hi, Lee and Carol. There were alot of these old chimneys "left standing" in Vermont. Whenever I saw an old chimney or an old cellar hole, it always made me wonder what happened to the house and the family whose land it was.

Lee and Carole - it leaves you wondering what happened ..... was it left standing as a memorial .... If only the ashes could talk

I would love to find out the history of the home and what and when it happened. What happened to the family and why didn't they re-build.

Lee and Carol,

How perfect - an outdoor fireplace. Don't see to many built like this. Beautiful country. :)

Lee and Carol,

The way this is just perched on the land - as if it's always been there. Now featured on "Silent Saturday." Congratulations. :)

We feel the same way too Diane. There are a few like this in our area that have some stories to tell.
