sleeping at desk

 The neatest thing happened yesterday.

I was at the office which is in our home doing business as usual and for some reason I just knew that I had to get to town. This wasn't some sort of psychic, weird experience or anything, just a little tug. I had some banking to do, but that could have waited till next week. It wasn't imperative that I be in town, but I had the unction to be there.

As the morning progressed I finished my tasks and told my wife that I was going to go to town. She, not knowing anything said that I didn't really need to go and wanted me to stay at home. I told her I would not be gone long and left shortly before noon.

On the way down I called a buddy and asked him if he had eaten. He said no but he would like to and needed a little time to wrap some stuff up. I told him that I had some errands to run and would give him a call as soon as I was done. I called and we decided on where to meet. I went in and sat down and waited for him.

Here is where it gets interesting. I have been praying for some more business to come my way. Always asking in His will of course, and knowing things come in His time. No worries there. Not two minutes after sitting down I get a call from a commercial building inspection firm out of Chicago, asking if I had commercial experience. Of course, I have been involved in the building and remodeling of many commercial buildings. They said they had a lady that needed an inspection and would refer me. I said ok. Two minutes later she called me, we talked and agreed that I would do the inspection for her.

You're probably thinking the story is over now aren't you? Nope! It gets better. It turns out she is in a highly competitive bidding situation and needs me to do the inspection ASAP. Surprise, surprise, I just happen to be about 1 mile from the building she wanted inspected and had my tools with me. She did the legwork with the owner and arranged for me to do the majority of the inspection immediately after the call, and return to finish the following day.

If I hadn't been in town there would have been no way I could have helped her. I believe God through the Holy Spirit nudges us and tugs at us on occasion. It's nothing magical or mysterious. It's a reality! He gave the unction, I listened even though I didn't realize what was going on and I was lead to a lead.

What's the moral of the story? I believe God hears our prayers and answers them if it is His will. We just need to listen better. We are His children after all.

Thanks! I felt like I was taking a bit of a risk on this one. I didn't want to sound like I was special or anything, just that I believe, and observed what happened in that light. I thought it was cool. And who know's maybe someone will read this and see God working in their own life. Now that would be a blessing.
