Sometimes we need a little perspective on how big we are.... (see below)

OK, let's look a little further...Just watch how big the Earth really is....

Perspective

Now I am feeling a little smaller...

Shall we take a look at the Sun?     Now take a look at the size of the Earth...

Solar System

Next time some one "acts like a big shot" send them this post!

I am feeling a little smaller. It is amazing to me that there is always more than one way to look at thing...

Here's a sign I keep in my office:

Three things I believe in

1.  There is a God

2.  I am not him

3.  Neither are you

Keeps things in perspective for me...

Hi Charles,

I've seen that before, but every time I am reminded how little we actually are. Very humbling. Thanks for sharing.

My perspective on selp-importance comes from living at the beach. When I feel my ego growing too big, all I need do is walk on the beach and watch the ocean. In the scheme of things I am no bigger than a grain of sand. Humbling indeed.

Charles - I felt as tiny as Pluto is to Jupiter when I stood at the edge of the Grand Canyon. I could feel the majesty and was awestruck. Thanks for bringing that memory to the front.

Charles, I loved it...It's a wonderful analogy to many things in life, especially if you're feeling like a Big Shot :)

Charles,

Pretty impressive analogy. In cosmic terms, we are insignificant.

This illustration is really humbling. I can't wait to show it to my teenagers when I get home. I hope it puts things into perspective for them.

Great perspective Charles, what was that saying...'Never let success go to your head and failure to your heart'
