This year, the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce has taken over the 2010 Season of the very popular Westhampton Beach Farmers Market. Originally started by the Westhampton Beach Historical Society in 2005, this year's market will be located in the same location in the Village of Westhampton Beach Municipal Parking Lot at 85 Mill Road next to the Historical Society at the intersection with Woodland Avenue and the top end of Glovers Lane.
The Farmers Market will continue on Saturday Mornings between 9AM and 1PM, but the 2010 Season has been extened from a 24 week program to a 36 week program starting April 3rd and continuing every week until December 11, 2010. Administraton for the event is now being executed out of the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce offices at 7 Glovers Lane adjacent to to the Market location.
Astoria Federal Savings Bank of Westhampton Beach has signed on this year as a Farmers Market Corporate Sponsor. The Greater Westhampton Beach Chamber of Commerce looks forward to having all of last year's vendor participants back in 2010 for another great year. New this year will be an EBT system and wooden token system that the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce will have in place that will allow the acceptence of food stamps for the purchase of locally grown organic food at the farmers market.
Vendors this year will include: Organic produce, fruits, jams, honey, fresh flowers, pickles, organic chickens and turkeys, biscotti and the list goes on and on. Anyone with vendor suggestions is encouraged to e-mail the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce at info@whbcc.org
