Hey Paula - welcome to AR. Your post shows me a good thing to point out. You address your post to me and posted it only in the EWM AR group instead of out to the entire AR community. This is a great use of our AR group for our questions and answers about the company blog. I would hope that Kevin and MAggie join in with tips and hints as well.
Now, to your question. You hit on the "duplicate content" nerve. Some bloggers feel that it is a big no-no to post something in more than one blog. Although, I will leave that debate to the experts, here are a few things I can suggest.
If you look up the Real Estate Tomato in active rain and read his blog - you can see how he handles this duplicate content thing. He either posts his entire article and then puts it up as "members only" or he puts a lead paragraph and then a read more link that leads to his blog outside of active rain. By posting members only -it will not go to the search engines - so only the other blog will get picked up. The reead more is kind of like using AR as an advertisement.
So, after this long winded comment, my suggestion is to post here in AR - us it to work the kinks out. Maybe the comments you get will give you an even better sense of what your EWM post should be. If you really want to save something for the EWM blog - use Word and save it. You will be able to copy and paste as soon as the site is up.
