365 Things Do To In Austin, Texas: Mexic-Arte Museum

After doing a little research I  have discovered that it seems most musems and other Austin treasures are apparently closed on Mondays.  Finally something jumped out at me as the perfect thing for this rainy Monday, the Mexic-Arte Museum.

Oddly enough we just celebrated our Independence from Mexico less than week ago so I figured what better time than the present to learn a little about their culture.  Each year75,000 visitors visit this museum to learn and experience Mexican, Latino and Latin American art and culture. The museum draws everyone from children to art enthusiasts.

It's not a huge museum but filled with culture. One of the best times to visit is during the dia de los muertos celebrations (November 1 - November 2).  The art is truly fantastic, vibrant, and inspiring.

For those seeking Volunteer Opportunities in Austin the museum seeks volunteers to help with education events and other various projects throughout the year. To find out more visit: education@mexic-artemuseum.org.
