Often times when opening the front door to a home or condo there is typically an "entry" area.  The area that welcomes Potential Buyers with maybe a small table, artwork, plant, etc. and leads them to the next room or area of the home.  This "entry" may also be the "Landing Spot" for the Realtor's marketing brochures or other Realtors to leave their cards.    While other homes might have wide open spaces, grand stair cases and vaulted ceiling; there is still usually a small table or the like as described.  This was not the case on this home...

Are your buyers hitting a brick wall?

This is what Potential Buyers and Realtors saw IMMEDIATELY as they entered this beautiful ranch home: a cold, white, painted brick wall.  It is actually the side of a double sided fireplace that splits the massive living space nearly in half.  However, as one enters this home there were no walls to place a small table, standard eight foot ceilings and  a smaller round table would have just stopped you at the door: not very welcoming.  We couldn't exactly ignore this big white elephant in the room either. The solution:

Platinum Home Staging, Inc.

My Company embraced it and may it as if it were meant-to-be.  The brick wall became our "welcome pad" - our entry if you will.  With a large color washed painting, textural elements and a touch of sparkle, we added a serving tray with a bright purple orchid to contrast and bring the eye to where the Realtor can now place their marketing brochures.  Buyers will no longer hit a brick wall, when they enter their new home! ;)

Connie, you are right- it does make a difference "the welcome pad" for every house to embrace it and make it memorable. Good job.

Connie- now that's using your head!  A great solution to a challenging problem.  Have to know if you already had the painting, or like on "Color Splash" with David Bromstad, did you paint it just for the house.  It really provides a great entry.

Thanks, Irina, I'm so glad you like it!

Lol - no, Kathy, no Bromstad here:  I actually have 2 of these in my inventory that I buy wholesale from one of my vendors.  It is hand painted on wood & canvas though.  They are ideal for large spaces like this where you really need a "wow" factor.

Hi Connie,

Original artwork conveys a message of luxury and makes the buyer think they are buying a lifestyle. Great job!

Amazing. You turned what looked like underground parking into a beautiful welcoming area.

Nicely done!

What a huge difference the painting makes when welcoming buyers into the home.  Ok, I hope this isn't a silly question but...  what hardware did you use to secure a hook/nail to the brick wall?

Thank you, Linda, there really was no other option than to embrace it.

Yes, Cathy - gave that elephant an evening gown ;o)

Thanks, Kathy ~ We Staged it in a transitional style with a mix of the home owners furniture.  Don't know if you noticed, but the floors are painted concrete: not something a Buyer would typically embrace when looking at "ranch" style homes.  The colors in the painting pulled it all together.

So glad you like it, Susan.  This is one of my favorite pieces & since we have 2 of them in our inventory, we use them quite often.

Truth be told, Randy, I LOVE to paint - but can never find the time. =(

LOL! Now that's funny, Liz! (under ground garage)  One of the Handy Man guys who has worked on this house for the past couple years said that before we Staged, the living space looked live a roller rink. ;)

Well, Sandy, actually our handy man went in after hours and hung it for us.  Typically though you can use a masonry drill in the grout (not the brick, it will crack the brick) then use expandable plastic anchors w/ adhesive to grip the grout.  For lighter artwork for brick or cinder block walls there is a great hanging product hook that you can get at the local (major) hardware store.  It has 3 small, pin size nails that hammer into the mortar.
