Benson welcomes a new restaurant this month!   The Apple Farm Bakery and Restaurant opened its doors at the beginning of July, and they haven't seen a stop to the line of customers yet!

My family and I wanted a sit-down dinner (Not another Happy Meal, PLEASE!) and saw that the Apple Farm Restaurant had opened their doors.  We had ate at a restaurant of the same name in Tucson, and enjoyed it, and hoped that this meal would be just as good.  To my surprise, the owner was actually the same owner of the restaurant we had visited in Tucson.  Business had slowed, and rent had increased, so she moved it to Benson!

The restaurant features Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner specials, which can be ordered any time of the day.  Dinner is  5-Course with soup, salad, entree, bread and dessert.  My husband enjoyed Chicken Fried Steak, while I had the "Aspen" sandwich with Sour Apple Cole Slaw.  Our four children had their usual:  Chicken Strips and Cheese Sandwiches.  Overall, it was a pleasant dinner, with fantastic service and food.  95% of what you are served is made fresh that day, including their salads and slaw, corn muffins, apple pies, bread pudding, and chocolate cake.

If you are looking for a refreshing meal in Benson, Arizona, I would have to say check out Apple Farm Bakery and Restaurant.  It is located on Ocotillo Rd. just south of I-10.

That place is always busy! The people of Benson can't get enough, but the reason they keep coming back is because of the FOOD and all credit needs to goes to the COOK "Javier Bedoya". If you get the pleasure to visit and eat at Apple Farm, please give your regards to the COOk! Let it be know that that place wouldn't be the same without him or his secret ingredients. The same cook worked at the Tucson Location was asked to follow them to Benson and now is being asked to help  open Apple Farm's new location in Whetstone,Az  in MArch 15th.2010.

The owner knows he has a diamond in the ruff with this COOK "Javier Bedoya."  Javier Bedoya has been a cook for 30 years, worked at numerous locations, even had his own restaurant at one time call El Faro Sea Food Restaurant in Tucson,Az. He was given an offer he couldn't resist and sold the company to a larger well known Sea Food Chan. Javier Bedoya always works 12 some times 15 hr days, 7 days a week, doing more over time then most people work on a regular shift. How do I know this? I'm his daughter who wants to give her dad the well deserved credit his entitled too! Great Job, your the BEST!

Love,

Alicia BEdoya

I haven't visited my old hangout in a couple of years, and was recently contacted by someone who had found the restaurant and tried it on my recommendation.  Unfortunately, he did not receive very good service, and made sure to let me know.  If you happen to be in Benson and try this restaurant out, please email me at lexa.montierth (at) me.com and let me know if it is still good food and good service.  I believe that local eateries should be given credit when credit is due, but I also value my own name and would hate to keep sending people to a restaurant where they are given less than decent service. Thank you!
