Green has great healing power. It is the most restful color for the human eye; it can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance.  In heraldry, green indicates growth and hope. Green, as opposed to red, means safety; it is the color of free passage.

According to the Color-Wheel-Pro: Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. A lighter or "fresh" Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety and is directly related to nature, so you can use it to promote 'green' products. While dark green is also commonly associated with money.

Hmmm, not the color green I had planned

Perhaps due to its overwhelming presence in nature, green is also the color that rests most center of the retina in the eye. Thus, when receptor cells in the eye pick up light waves, vision is most receptive to green due to how easy the retina can absorb it. Because of this, green provides an ideal environment for relaxation, concentration and meditation according to the site Creating Emotion Through Color

Here are a few nice vignette shots from this Staging

As the foundation of nature, green ties all of us back to our roots, gives us a feeling of retreat from the normal materialistic, bustling life we lead every day. Green is quieting, refreshing, and reassuring; as the first green buds pop through the white blankets of snow, we are assured of the imminent coming of spring, the season of birth and rejuvenation.

Green is also commonly associated with the perception of Luck, such as four leaf clovers.

OK -  a few more from previous jobs that I couldn't resist and hope gives some inspiration:

I actually did notice the flowers on the bed first in that picture before my eyes focused on anything else.  That's unusual! I don't typically notice flowers first.  Thanks for pointing out the benefits of green!

Connie -- Nice use of green, and great photos!  (P.S.  That was interesting to read about how the retina absorbs the color green.  Let's see, my eyes are green so I must have really absorbed a lot of green, right? LOL)

Connie, I just attended a paint presentation at Benjamin Moore today, and fell in love with "Wasabi", a fantastic green colour.  Your photos look beautiful and very spring like.

Thanks, Emcee ~ that room tended to take on a "garden feel" as we continued to Stage it.  The flowers, although not something we typically do, just seemed to make sense and the green popped beautifully.  Glad you "noticed" them ;)

LOL - you & me both, Maureen! But my eyes are a very gold-green (or so I'm told) so does that mean I'm "rich" too?

So glad you like them, Sally.  The green really pops on camera - initially the color scheme for this house was blues and rusts - funny how the best laid plans adjust, isn't it?

Connie- this was one of the most visually attractive posts I've seen.  Could it be all of the "green"?  I used to shy away from wearing green until about 20 years ago a great friend, who shares my coloring, said we should be in green!  Besides all of the black and white in my closet, green has been inching into it.

What an informative post.  Thank you!

Funny, my eyes are green too.  Everyone tells me I have mood eyes, they go from extremely light to dark green.   I really liked the throw too, and the outdoor spaces are fabulous.  I'm so envious of your weather!!

Connie....I've also been using a lot of green.  It really wasn't my favorite color for many years....never wear it....but the greens today seem a bit more interesting (or I'm just changing in my old age!).  Love your use of green in all these rooms!!  As always you do it with sophistication and style!!

I've always been a huge green fan!  Your photos are fabulous.  I really love the close ups.  Excellent post!

Luv the new room & vignettes.

Stupid question maybe, are the tulips on the bed real or silk?  This is a lovely touch.

Thanks for making me feel "young", Ginger! Here's a picture of where rust DID make it into this house.  Although this looks much more "red" the pillows are actualy very "rusty orange"

Thanks, Kathy & Wanda! Hopefully this might inspire you to bring a little more green ;)

Cindy~ Mine are green, they vary between gold & olive green (so I'm told) but my brother and sister who both have green eyes (we all do) - their eyes can change to bright blue believe it or not: I swear! (jealous)

;) I can tell, Cathy, it's even in the color of shirt you're wearing.  See you in a couple weeks?

Thank, Kathy B., I haven't used a lot of green either except in outdoor spaces, but everything has changed now!

Thanks, Sharon T.! So glad you like them. The close-ups really show the details that are otherwise lost in the "whole room" photos.

Glad you had to ask, Sharon C.=D  They're silk.  Typically I use them on a side or end table, but this room needed "something" on the bed, this was perfect IMHO.
