Celiac Disease & MSG

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Fort Myers & The Islands

Perhaps my posting will be deleted because it does not directly relate to Real Estate.

Having said that I consider this site to be a cornucopia of facts and know that with the vast number of bloggers & members perhaps I will be able to glean some knowledge from all the active rainers.

I have Celiac Disease and an intense MSG allergy. This has been really hard too deal with.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Celiac Disease, it is .... a "gluten intolerance". I more or less can not eat anything made from wheat flour. No bread, pizza, pasta, tortilla's most canned soups, gravies, etc. 95% of all grocery store items contains some form of gluten. Combine that with an MSG allergy and I am starving.

Is there anyone who can help me with this. I so miss Dunkin Donuts, Olive Garden, Chickfila, bread, marinades.

Eating out is all but  off limits.  I am sooo hungry and need to find a way to eat and keep up with a Realtor's schedule. I have been to several websites, but there are only so many salads I can eat and the dressings all have MSG in them.

I just found out that several other food ingredients that say they are not MSG, have the same effect.

I feel like a Supermodel...I am not nearly as wealthy or pretty, but I sure am hungry!!!!

Thanks for everyone's responses in advance.

I feel for you...I think my niece has this disease as well but I'm not sure. I know that Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View has it. She did a feature on the show about it. Elisabeth said that there are many products available, including breads, cookies, brownies, and even beer. Try this source:http://www.glutensolutions.com/ or see if Trader Joes, Whole Foods or Fresh Market carry gluten free items. Good luck & feel better!
