Prepare Before Visiting a Realtor

By

Is this your first real estate transaction? How much are you willing to spend? Are you particular about the locality of your home? Do you prefer a home with more than two bedrooms and bathrooms? Do you have pre approval? Are your finances in place? Phew…!!! These are just a few questions one will have to face when they visit a realtor for the first time. Are you prepared with all those answer for your realtor?? If the answer is no, then it is time you begin preparing in order to ensure a smooth real estate deal.

It is very important that you be aware of the amount of money you are ready to spend for your home. It is common knowledge that money is the answer to many other questions! Also, once you are decided on the amount you are capable of spending, you can narrow your search to properties that fall in that range, thus saving your time and the realtor’s time. This preparation requires you to be pre approved. Your realtor will be at peace to know that you have a price set and will not deviate from it.

The next aspect you have to prepare for is the land area you are willing to and capable of investing on. You must have a firm stand on whether you will invest on a 5 acre land or a 100 acre land. No one other than you will better know the number of bedrooms and bathrooms your family will require. If you are very specific about the location of your property, then you have to clearly point it out to the realtor. Sometimes it so happens that you may not find the right home of your choice in the location you prefer. In such a situation, you must be prepared to make a few amendments to your requirement.

Hence it is essential that you have all your specifications of your dream home before you visit your realtor. This will narrow down your search for your dream home. If not, you will end up visiting 50 homes in locations all around the city, not liking even a single home! When you are capable of giving a statement to your realtor saying your dream home must have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an attic and a fireplace in a locality close to schools, your workplace and a shopping area; your realtor will be more than happy to serve you with all his commitment for you have reduced his search for your dream home by almost 75 %.
