 In real estate, I deal with many customers, many clients and alot of agents.  I do problem solving everyday and sometimes I just don't have the answer.  There is one thing that I always say.  I mean atleast 99.9% of my phone calls - ends with me saying.. "I will call you back".  It is so funny when the people on the other end go - "oh, OK..."  They have all heard this before.  They think that I am just saying this to get off the phone.  They probably think that I will never call them back.  They have heard this probably more times than I have said it.  But here is the thing - I always call back 100% of the time.  Even when its a tough call for me to make.  I call back

When I do call back - the person is almost always shocked.  "OH.. You called back!"  Hmmm, makes me wonder how many people DON'T call back?  I think that is business 101.  Even when I can't find what I need to answer a question - I call back.  Even when a deal that I was working on dies - I call back.  Even when I have to tell my seller that the price is still too high - I call back. 

When you use those words - (like I do all the time) and you don't call back, people feel like you don't care.  They feel like they were not worth your time.  They will take their business elsewhere.  So, do you have some people to call back today?  Even if it's just to say "I did not forget about you - I will call you back"

So true, so true.  I've picked up a lot of business from people who never do make a call back-and isn't that sad that some folks have so much business they don't need any more?

lol Leigh.. Sad - good word to use.  I see it all the time.  I hope I never have enough business to not call people back.  I do my best calling from my car phone.  I am alone and I can think.  (yes it is illegal to use cell phone while driving - but I can use and DO use my hands free)  :)

Uh, Christine you forgot to call me back:) I agree totally, I always call back and difficult calls i.e. deal fell apart, I make immediately. The longer you wait the harder it is to make the call. Communicating and doing what you say you will, when you say you will, will make you a lot of $$ in this business. The best thing is it doesn't costs anything! Just do it and reap the rewards.
