Unless you live under a rock (or have Tivo [and hate commercials]), you know the Apple ads, with the Mac-a cool guy who seems so nice you could bring him home to Mom, and the PC-a nerdy guy who's bitter about not being as hip, and can't even begin hide it. And with the ipod and the new iphone (don't have one? How do you still live? I ask myself this question every day), chances are you are very aware of Apple Computers and their products.

Well, I‘ve got good news. Apple Computers, the "hippest" computer manufacturer out there is coming to Austin! Rumor is that not only have they just renewed the lease on their 275,000SF of office space in Northwest Austin (near U.S. 183 and Oak Knoll Drive), but they plan to build 80,000SF more. That's big news, since Apple is about the hippest tech company on the corporate landscape today.

They already use around 40,000SF for support service in Riata Corporate Park, which is in the same area. When everything is complete, those facilities will be moved over the brand new building.

Apple is coming! This could certainly help raise Austin real estate values in that area, and only increase the city of Austin's profile as the coolest city west of Seattle (Or east of New York).

Really! Think about it! We're already known for SXSW Music/Film/Technology Festival, for being the live music capital of the world, and for having the most hippies per capita than anywhere west of San Francisco (or east of Woodstock). What could make us cooler? Short of the Fonz riding up on his bike next to Sean Connery (the young version), and announcing that they were moving here, this is it. My point is, well, to put it very clearly: Viva la Apple!

Ki Gray lives in and works in Austin Texas. The coolest city in the universe at least according to people that live here. He runs a website about Austin Real Estate market where he writes descriptions of the the various Austin Condos that keep popping up in downtown Austin. When he is not looking at real estate he is probably blogging on his Austin Real Estate Blog.
