I haven't blogged about an individual event with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for awhile, but this Friday night March 12th could be something special.
Heather Headley, a Northrop High School graduate returns home this week to perform with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for one show at the Embassy Theatre this Friday night at 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased online through the Philharmonic's website or by calling (260) 481-0777. Tickets range in price from $32-$70 and there is a special V.I.P ticket that runs $100 for the concert and a post concert reception with Heather Headley in the Indiana Hotel Lobby.
Heather got her start in Broadway with her role in "The Lion King" in 1997 which lead to much critical acclaim. She followed that role up with a Tony Award winning best Actress performance in the Broadway adaptation of Aida in 2000. Heather broke into the music business in 2002 with the release of her debut album that garnered two Grammy nominations for best female R&B vocal performance and Best New Artist. She just recently accomplished that Grammy award on January 31st of this year for best contemporary R&B gospel album for "Audience of One"
This promises to be a special night in Fort Wayne at the Historic Embassy Theatre with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic with one of it's own Heather Headley in town....don't miss it!!
