Obama has nominated another controversial judge to the Court of Appeals.
- U.S. District Court Judge Robert Chatigny was nominated February 24th.
- A letter from his home-state prosecutor was received denouncing his qualifications for the postion and lableing him a "judicial loose canon".
In 2005 Judge Chatigny received notoriety for his role in trying to block the execution of convicted rapist and murderer Michael Ross known as the Roadside Stangler. Chatigny threatened to go after Ross's attornies law license during the proceedings.
In 2001 Chatigny ruled against sex offenders registries created under Megan's law.
The Obama administration rated Judge Chatigny to be first rate legal and faithful public servant.
