I believe that Social Media networking is a significant cause of Global Warming. Here are some of the Facebook statistics that support my theory.
> Facebook has more than 60 million active users.
> Active users doubling every 6 months; over 20 million users.
> Visiting Social Sites is now the 4th most popular online activity - ahead of personal e-mail.
I attended my first social media seminar and found out that even though I am a member of ActiveRain and LinkedIn, I am missing an important tool in staying in contact with current and potential business clients. I am not taking advantage of Facebook.
Up until today, I saw Facebook as a fun place for family and friends to communicate with photos and comments about daily activities. Up until today, I was one of those that believed that my existing network of past clients would remember me and actively "sell me" to their network.
But how do I make sure that I am remembered? One way might be to link them to me via Facebook when I am most important to them, when I am helping them obtain financing for their new home or helping them save money with a refinance. Once connected, I can continue to stay in touch by providing them with valuable information relating to interest rates, TIME changes (this weekend), ideas about saving money on college loans, etc., I can reinforce their memory of providing them with value.
Look out world, with Facebook, here I come - carbon footprint or not. Have a great day!
