Roanoke VA Foreclosure----let's not let them foreclose!

By
Real Estate Agent with Damon Gettier & Associates, REALTORS- Roanoke Va Short Sale Expert

I was working on a Roanoke VA foreclosure today that will be hitting the market sometime in the near future.  I was amazed at the condition the previous owner left the home in!  There was dog and cat feces everywhere!  Everywhere means, on the carpet, hardwoods, stairs, laundry room, kitchen and the screened in porch.  All of the carpets will have to be replaced and the decking will have to be pressure washed to hopefully make this home livable again.

Where has the pride gone?  It is bad enough that someone is in a position where they will lose their home but why destroy it?  Why bring the value of the neighborhood down?  Why take the cabinets out of the home?

Why take the heating system?  Out of spite?  I just don't understand.
I do have a great idea though.....don't get foreclosed on!  Work with the bank on a loan modification!  If that doesn't work and you cannot afford your home, sell it!  If you owe more than it is worth, do a short sale!

We work on short sales in Roanoke, Salem VA, Botetourt, Bedford, Franklin and Vinton.....we know what we are doing and a homeowner can get out of the sticky mess they are in without losing everything.  We are here to help...call us.

Damon,
I think some people do take pride in their homes.  But then frustration, depression and anger takes over when foreclose proceedings start.  How soon after the owner left you entered the home?  Maybe the heating system was stolen or sold.

Damon, bottom line people don't care. It's too bad because the neighbor next door who pays as he is supposed to loses value. On a brighter note, I have shown some REO properties that were left in great condition. Good luck with it!!

Sometimes things weren't taken as much as they were sold to get a little money to hopefully be able to stay in the home, even if there was only one bathroom left with a toilet, shower, and sink.
