Atlantic City Rescue Mission Shoe Drive is being conducted by the local Girl Scouts and using the BayShore Agency mainland offices in Tuckerton and the Mystic Island section of Little Egg Harbor as drop off points. So, if you are going to do your spring cleaning, do it now. Get your old, clean, usable shoes down to one of the BayShore Agency offices before March 19th and the Girl Scouts volunteer to get them matching feet. New packages of socks are also needed.

Until my brother became a foster parent, I didn't realize how many kids really went without shoes. They would wear $1 sandals and stuff, but when it freezing out, that isn't considered shoes. These drives really do help kids that are in need and most of the kids I now see in the foster care system are in need.
