How To SELECT ALL When Suggesting Fans for your Facebook Business Page

How many of you have tried to suggest friends for your Facebook business fan pages and had to one-by-one, click each and every one of your friends?  You'll quickly find that you cannot select the first friend and scroll to the bottom, hold down the shift key and left-click your mouse, selecting that last item and have them all highlighted!  Why, that would be TOO easy!  What a time consuming effort to have to go through and select them one-by-one, especially if you have more than 5 friends !

Well, now, you can 'select all' on your Facebook page with just a few clicks of your mouse!

I was complaining that my original business Facebook page had accidentally been deleted and that the worst part was going through and clicking each friend, one-by-one, again to get all of my fans back!  It is such a time-consuming effort, as you well know!

Well, I figured this out thought I'd share it with you!

Here's the script to SELECT ALL friends on Facebook, using FIREFOX:

1.  This tutorial requires use of Mozilla Firefox browser. Download Mozilla Firefox here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

2.  Once it is installed, start the Mozilla Firefox browser.  Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748 to install an “add-on” called Greasemonkey.  Greasemonkey enables user scripts to run on Firefox.

3.  After downloading & installing Greasemonkey, go to http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/57990 to install the script that will enable the “Select All” option on Facebook.  Click “Install”.  A pop-up for the add-on will appear:

 Select All Facebook step 1

Click “Install” again. The script is now saved as an add-on for Firefox

4.  Now sign on to your Facebook page. You will see the following when clicking "Suggest to Friends":

SELECT ALL Facebook Friends Step 2

5.  You’ll notice there is a new field at the bottom of the “Suggest” box.  Adjust the range (Start from: & Till:) or just leave the pre-filled boxes as is (which is what we die).   You will then “Click Them”  All friends will then be highlighted.

Select All Facebook step 3

6.  Then click “Send Invitations”  It will take a couple of minutes for this to process so, don't repeatedly click "Click Them," just be patient.

That’s all there is to it!  What a time-saver, huh?!

Fred:  Oh, I'm just keeping up when it comes to Facebook but, I'm having a blast meeting up with old buddies from high school and college!

Kristin:  Thanks so much!  Yes, I'd definitely get one done--route your AR posts there and you'll keep it rolling!  Now you'll know how to quickly and easily get your friends to become fans of your new business page!

Lori:  Isn't he?!  All I did was mention that it was taking me forever and since I had two business pages (working on a 3rd one), he figured out a way to do this.  I had spent alot of time on FB trying to figure it out myself and he did it in one afternoon!  Enjoy!

Thanks for the reminder that I have been seriously neglecting my Facebook fan page. I really have been meaning for too long now to get some updating done, and give it the attention it deserves. Great post thanks Debe

Hi Gerry!  Now is a great time to get one done!  I still have to upload some photos but, I'm trying to juggle clients and social media as best I can--the face-to-face wins every time!  LOL

Leave it to Debe and Company to figure things like this out!

Now, if there was a way to keep track of how many times you have invited someone, but they DON'T become a Fan. If they are not interested, it's bad Facebook manners to keep inviting them. Any suggestions on that one?

Get to see you in 2 weeks Yippie!!!!

Debe...great tip because I had the same difficulty...are you going to make several facebook fan pages?  Also, would you mind if either my husband (Gordon) or me gave you a call to ask which programs you use to do your graphs and everything else?...Brad Andersohn gave us an exhaustive list and it would take half the year to figure things out...Thanks, Cherise

Thom:  I just complained to him that I was tired of clicking 1,000+ friends and VOILA!  He figured it out for me and took me virtually MINUTES to do it!  As for the repeated FB 'fan me' emails, I don't know what the etiquette is on that.  Let me know if you find out and I'll do the same.  And, I can't WAIT for ATL either--WOOHOO!

Larry:  Thanks and good luck with it!  Hey, why don't you join us?!  A great AR group, for SURE!

Mama Liz:  I'll do!  I love Firefox but, even if I didn't have it, the download is so quick, it would be worth it just to save clicking on all of those friends individually!  Good luck!

Cherise:  I've got one 'real estate' (general), one 'homes for sale' and one 'things to do' as well as my personal page and my volunteer page!  It's alot to get going with but, a post every few days is not alot of maintenance.  And, absolutely, give me a call anytime!  I'd love to chat with you!

Debe:  Firefox instead of IE?  My corporate tech guys are saying don't do it but most tech savvy realtors use it.  What's with the conflicting opinions?

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

Hi All!  Sorry I had to post and dash but, thank you ALL for your comments and yes, I have relayed to Ray the 'thank you's'!  One thing that cam up in an Active Rain University class this week with Mike Mueller was that he prefers to organically obtain fans on his page rather than to suggest them to your friends.  I do understand that theory but, I also find that most of my friends are okay with the suggestions and enjoy keeping up with the real estate market via my business fan pages.  Of course, either way is fine--just user preference.

Thanks again for your comments and I hope you have a fabulous Sunday!
