TV Commericals and Shows Bring Attention to Vacation Rentals Worldwide

Services for Real Estate Pros with Waikoloa Vacation Rentals

As the economy continues to struggle people are finding it more necessary to take a vacation and get away from the "stresses of life".  Many people that once desired all the amenities and services of hotels have moved to staying in vacation rentals in order to save some money.  While staying at a vacation rental you can stay with another family in places as large as 2000 square feet versus staying in two hotel rooms for the same price.  You can also save cost on having to dine out every meal.  Just recently there were two great examples of the move towards staying in vacation rentals on the television.

The Bachelor is a television show that has been aired for years.  I think they have had close to a dozen seasons.  As the show comes to an end the setting is typically in a beautiful location and they stay in one of the finest hotels there.  This year it was set in St. Lucia in the Bahamas where many people are familiar with the hotel chains such as Sandals Resorts that operate there.  Instead of staying in these notable resorts, they stayed in two and three bedroom luxury vacation rentals with private pools and jacuzzis.

HomeAway, one of the leading vacation rental marketers, launched the first vacation rental advertisement during the Super Bowl.  They brought back Chevy Chase and portrayed the hotel experience as a really bad one.  Not only was it great advertising for HomeAway, but it also increased awareness of vacation rentals as an option for vacations.  Since then, HomeAway has continued its advertising campaign.

Rob,

It is really amazing that people can rent a full size two bedr/ 2 bath new condo with everything in it and it would be the same as renting a small hotel room with no kitchen, no space, nothing.

And you are right. What a great way to go with friends. Comes inexpensive and so much better than hotels.

My FIRST real estate investment was a 1BR condo near The Jungle on the AlaWai in Waikiki * it was originally a condo hotel and later sold as individual units as nicer hotels were build on the beach....I WISH I still owed it.  I could walk to the zoo, beach and had covered parking!!!
