We all plan extensively for that day of showings...wash the car, get the clean suit, organize the paperwork, etc. So you've got the parents taken care of. What about the 3 kids that are coming along? I know that some agents have DVD players in the back seat for entertaining purposes. Some keep chldren's magazines available.

I have been known to keep a few magic tricks with me for a point when things get a little yawn-ish. I have found that a small trick for the kids (and sometimes the parents) can be a boost. I enjoy it too.

Do you have any other means to keep the kids happy for hours on end? I'm very open to suggestions. Thanks!

First, I always try and encourage the parents to leave the kids with a friend or family member in the area, so that they can be fully focused on finding their home. If that's not an option, I encourage the kids to be involved and engaged in our home search. This is going to be their house too! If mom and dad hear this suggestion and don't really care to have their kids' advice, they'll find a place to put the kids/keep them occupied while you go on with your tour!

I agree that I try to discourage house hunting with kids, but I do have some small inexpensive coloring books and new boxes of crayons for the kids. They can then take their books and crayons home.
