The Value of a Mentor.

We all come from different walks of life.  We all have (or should have) someone that we look up to, wheather its a famous person, a rock star, a professional athlete, or one of you're parents or grandparents.  We should all have someone that we can look up to.

We have all heard the word 'Mentor' before.  This is not someone who we immediatly look up to but someone that we seek specifically for a certain knowledge.  I'm a huge fan of knowledge, but NOT a huge fan of spending a ton of money (or you're parents money) for something that will automatically get you into debt.

I'm also a huge fan of having a Mentor, but NOT a fan of spending a ton of money to get one.  There a alot of Companies, today, that will send out a personal Mentor to hold you're hand and teach you the ins & outs of Real Estate Investing.  While this does indeed work, it just isn't for me.  I cannot learn that way.  I'd rather learn by doing it myself.  Maybe it's a pride thing....I don't know.  I like to learn by following others that have made the mistakes already.  I ask a ton of questions all the time.  By no means am I a "guru" at this game.......in my opinion, nobody is....not even Donald himself.  The Value of a Mentor and the value of getting the correct education is priceless.

Hi Jeff, I earned $330,000 at my best year.  I hired a mentor (coach) for $11,000 up front and $1000 per month after that! It was a bold move on my part but I knew people who used him with great success.  My income doubled to $625,000, the following year it went to $1,200,000 and the year after to $1,600,000 for 2004.  I've scaled back and have taken on other endevours but still earn at least $1million a year.  The "few bucks" I spend on my coach are well worth it!  Mind you, I've been attending seminars, conventions & other events for years, trying to "do it myself" but still couldn't get beyond the $300,000.  There's a lot to be said for "buying" the best mentor! Tiger Woods does! So does every top athlete and performer. It just takes longer for that philosophy to migrate to our business.

Excellent point, Dave!  Well said.  Like I say, "The value of a Mentor is priceless!"  Congrats on breaking that "medicore mold" too!  Good job!  I like the way you think!

Most people go about their day only to accept to be in a medicore life......and this is the reason why they are stuck.

If more people would expect great things to happen to them and get the right knowledge to back them up, then I truly believe that they will be better off.

Accepting to be great, and NOT settle for anything less, is the first step to living you're dreams!  Thanks for the comments!
