Mr. Smith is living out west and relocating to Fort Wayne in the near future. He found a couple of homes on my website and asked me if I would be so kind as to walk through a couple of them, take better pictures and give him a better description of the homes and the neighborhood. Let’s back track to this morning before I go on…
5:00 AM: My alarm clock goes off and I hurry to get ready to go pick up donuts and deliver them to the Fort Wayne GM Plant. 5 AM I SAID!!! Groggy and with donuts in hand, I headed out to the plant. 1 cup of coffee down and I was back on my game. We gave out gift bags and chatted with a bunch of GM Transfers from Louisiana, Janesville WI, and some from Michigan. Great people!!
From there I had to hurry back home, feed the dog, and then head to my two showings. The first house was vacant and it took me about 10 minutes to walk through and take notes and pictures. Then I pull up to the second house. I get out and think to myself, “self, this looks nicer in person than in the pictures“.
The showing instructions said that the lock box was on a table inside the closed in front porch. I open the door and I can’t find it. Okay, no biggie… I look in the window and it looks like nobody was home. I go around to the side door and the back door and NO LOCK BOX. I’m starting to get annoyed… I head back to the front porch and look around again and still NO LOCK BOX!!
I decide to call this ding dong listing agent and ask him where the hell the lock box is. I fling open the door to and look towards the sign in the front hard to get the phone # and then it happens…
I AM LOOKING AT THE WRONG FRIGGIN PROPERTY!!!!!!!! I look over to my right and there is the agent’s sign in front of the house I am supposed to be viewing. I walk over, open the porch door and guess what is sitting right there on the table? Yup. The lock box.
This is just one more reason that I love being a Realtor in Fort Wayne. NO TWO DAYS ARE EVER THE SAME!!! Time to head to a showing now and then to an inspection. Please wish me luck that I go to the right house. Thank you.
