6 months with no interest, then staged...5 days later, 2 offers, now under contract!!

Home Stager with Ready Set Stage

Until recently, I've been called to stage many beautiful new construction homes.  This is the first time I've staged a home that is older.  I love the older home because they have so much character.  I asked the owners to paint the kitchen cabinet and panelled room.  They did not want to.  It was a hard house to do because it was very dark.  They did change out serveral of the light fixtures though.  I used some of what they had and put some newer furniture in too.

This house was on the market for 6 months with no interest.  After we staged it, they had 2 offers within 5 days and now it is under contract!!!

The owner even said to me that before she wouldn't have wanted to live there, and now she would definitely consider it!!  What a nice compliment.

It just goes to show you don't need an "extreme makeover" to stage a house for sale. The changes are subtle but also make a huge impact. Congrats and nice job!

Thank Cari, I agree, you can make such small changes, and they make such huge differences.

Agree with Cari....it really can make a difference having someone who knows how to "use what you have" and then add just the right touches to make an EXTREME difference!  GREAT job!

Preparing your property for sale

HI Chrissie, it's true, sometimes you just have to add some colour to break up all the wood.

Curious question-  I wonder how much more they could have made on the sale of the house if they had followed the professional stagers suggestions to paint the wood. I was always of the mindset that you should never leave money on the table in a sale. It seems that the home owners emotions maybe took prededence in this case.
