I recently spent a week in Naples Florida.  I teach a class to companies who have purchased ERA franchises.  I had a wonderful time and met some really great Realtors.  It is so interesting to me to go to the different parts of the country, meet Realtors and see how they run their businesses.  As we discussed their market in Florida, I discovered they are having a really slow market.  Prices and have fallen and listings are easy to come by.  The challenge in their area is getting buyers to buy the houses.

Salt Lake City's market has slowed a bit as well.  However, our market below $350,000 is still very strong.  Prices higher than that are sitting on the market for awhile.  The marketing needed to sell these properties is extensive.

Sellers wanting to sell right now are going to have to choose wisely when choosing an agent.  Two of the biggest mistakes home sellers make when choosing an agent are selecting an agent solely based on: the highest list price for their home and lowest commission.  Many agents will come into your home and tell you exactly what they think you want to hear.  My belief is this, I am not in the business of listing homes, I am in the business of selling homes.  That's why I am honest with all those sellers I meet with.  I give them all the information they need to make an informed decision.  As far a low commission, I believe, you get what you pay for.  If you want to sell your home, be sure you have a full service agent.

I hope that this information has been helpful.  Ask questions, lots of them, that's the only way you will get answers.
