Quantuck Bay

The Shinnecock Indians called the land "Quawcantucke," which meant "the land that trembles." The land trembles still as a result of ocean surf just on the other side of  dunes that border the south side of QUANTUCK BAY.

Quantuck Bay is bounded by the landmasses of Quogue,  Westhampton Beach, and Quiogue. It is fed by fresh water springs from Quantuck Creek and Aspatuck Creek and at one time, prior to 1930 when Moriches inlet came into being, it was once a fresh water lake.

Today, Quantuck Bay is a popular shallow bay with large homes dotting its shoreline.  Sailboats, small powerboats, and watercraft of every kind use the sheltered bay for popular water sports.

One of the last pieces of open land on the shore of Quantuck Bay has just come on the market for sale.  It’s only a little over a half acre in size, but the views are fantastic. If you would like to preview the site, contact me at www.corcoran.com/robertmurray

Robert,

Sounds like a beautiful sanctuary - except for the shaking.  Best of luck in finding a buyer.
