BFFFirst, you may be thinking..."BFF, what is that?".  I am really a sad story.  My BFF, otherwise known as Best Friend Forever, is my laptop and wireless Internet at home.  Can you believe how easily we get caught up in the ease of use of our technology?

I am a serial mortgage blogger.  By this, I mean I sneak into a corner of the house with my laptop and have quiet to get some "important work done"...for me, it is important.  My fiance' insists I am playing on the internet.  He says, "Honey, I know how important blogging is to you...".  So, enough history, you can clearly see I enjoy my time to blog and the wireless internet in my house that allows me to work just about anywhere.  Disclaimer:  Don't worry, it has never been in the bathroom with me!

Love my computerSince Friday at 6pm, I have been without my best friend, my home internet service.  It was a difficult couple of days and I found myself just sitting and staring at the computer, hoping some miracle would happen and a star from heaven would drop internet service to my house.  Needless to say, it didn't happen.

Yesterday, the local Tampacable guy came and delivered the bad news that I wouldn't be getting my service yesterday with some long drawn out story about why we had to wait for another set of technicians.  Hello?!?  Dude, all I need is my internet.  Can't you tell from my shaking I am going through withdraws?  I tried to bribe him with anything I could find in the house.  I offered the dog...no deals....cold beer...no can do...I even tried offering off the neighbors cat with no luck.  No service for me!

HoorahToday, a new cable guy came and after 2.5 hours...we have internet again!  My lifeline has been restored!  I am so excited to say I am sitting in my comfy chair, again, blogging to you all.  I am catching up on some good reading and happy to be back in the loop.  And, I can't imagine being alone without my BFF again in the future.

Happy reading to you all.  More great mortgage articles from your Tampa Mortgage Expert to follow.  If you missed me and need some good mortgage information for reading...check out these great articles:

Leah, glad to hear you survived! It's always tough, even when our connection goes down for 10 minutes. Just can't be "unplugged" from the rest of the world!

Yehhh, Leah is back. I thought you were on vacation!!! I feel your pain my friend. My laptop is attached to me, it goes all over the house with me (not the bathroom and that's because I get no service in there). hey I even took my laptop on our vacation.

Ryan ~ I am glad to have survived as well.  As I was typing the post, I lost my connection again.  I couldn't discount the irony in that situation!

Mana ~ Yehhh...I am glad to be back!  I have found that I can take my laptop outside to sit on the patio...too bad it is hotter then a cat on a hot tin roof down here!  Darn Florida heat!

Hi Leah, that is cute.  I can't imagine being without my laptop...it has all of my photos.  I need to put them on my pc also.  :)  Congrats!  I was just thinking that I had not seen you on AR as much.

It happens to all of us.  The other day my son calls me at work to ask if I paid the phone bill because the Internet isn't connecting.  OMG I thought it was the end of the world.  No babe turn off the wireless router for 30 secs and try again. You just lost connection.  A min later he calls OK Thanks mom its working.

I couldn't imagine livingwith 2 teenagers for 4 days with no Internet.  Sorry Leah I know I couldn't handle it either.

Stephanie ~ I am still here!  Don't forget about me ;)  Yes, I had a rough weekend.  I got caught up on some housework...suppose that is good too!

Anita ~ Love it!  I have to admit I have the same issue at my house.  "Okay, here's how you reset the computer....stick the pen in this hold...unplug this cord...remove this wire...wait 98 second...replug the blue wire....replug the white wire...stand on one leg, hold your breath and hit the reset"....Make it WORK!  Thanks for the comment!

Leah,

Good to hear that you made it through. Hopefully there is no permanent damage. Anyway, I can see how blogging and AR and other activities become part of a routine and when it suddenly is removed, it can throw us for a loop. Computer flame-out has happened here and it isn't fun.

Leah - Loved the post - but I thought I was your BFF - (LOL) I don't even want to think about 4 days without internet connection - however, I will say not having AC the last week was no picnic - this laptop throws off some heat! Seriously, I'm glad you're back  - loved the post, and lots of great reading to catch up one.

Leah,

You are too funny, but I know what you mean, it's horrible isn't it? A couple of months ago I was on a road trip with 3 other fellow Rainers. The first two days we were in the boonies, no wireless, not nothing. It was hilarious, you would have thought we were out of running water or something like that.

Leah I feel your pain. I was out for 4 hours <GASP> after my husband turned off the router during a thunderstorm and then couldn't find the CD to set it back up.

so how long did it take for the shakes to go away?   I can not imagine - a whole week without AR - and in December that is where I will be - heading out on a cruise and I know the hubby will not permit me to take the laptop... lol

I hate the cable guy.  One of the last times they came out, he called and asked me to buzz him into the building.  He was at a condo I lived at 10 years ago.  What the heck!  How does THAT happen?

I had to send in my tablet PC a few weeks ago. Felt like part of me was missing. It was like a old friend always by my side. I had to go back to those discusting spiral notebooks for 2 weeks.

Neal the bathroom thing may be WTMI.    Is the chair to put your lap top on or do you put it on you lap.  Please don't answer just thinking out load about the chair in the john and all.

Leah....  lol   withdrawals....    in regards to Neal's comment... LOL    Even the pool?  Not in the water I hope. The bathroom thing....  well, my house is wireless also.... so....  I will leave you with that thought. Put it this way, some times the lap top takes the place of the sports section....  ;o)

Leah... glad that you have been restored...  ;o)

Leah - I feel your pain!!  It's like missing a limb...knowing you "could" have it...and "should" have it...  I heard the "drawn out story" and totally get it now!!  Uggghhh!!!

Soo...now you're officially BLESSED to have OCD for a few days and play "ketchup" with all that's gone on "ONLINE" without you!!

Congrats on getting the house in order...and the internet in service!!  WHEN's THE PARTY???

Anita ~ Seriously, sometimes I just make stuff up to see if he will do it...he always does.  Dummy.  From time to time, I just give the blank blond look and say "I don't know why that didn't work..hmmm"...It keeps me laughing inside for days.  Deep down, I am just wrong.

Esko ~ Big time loop my friend!  Luckily, I am back up and running...almost all caught up!

Cyndee ~ Okay, so you know the laptop has a special place in our hearts.  I know YOU put that laptop in front of me...don't lie sister!  It's okay to tell everyone that you have the other half of the "Best Friends Forever" broken heart necklace...our secrets' safe on the rain!

Chris ~ That is crazy...where the heck have they been sending the bills?  So, this is good...they installed new cable wire at my house.  Now, when the mail man comes, the cable goes out...then when he leaves, it comes back on.  I give up!

Missy ~ Poor sad friend.  Hopefully your laptop didn't know you where cheating on him with the spirals...tisk tisk!

Rob ~ More to come soon...stay posted!

Tom ~ No one has lost a life yet, however considering my comment to Chris regarding Saturday and the fact my repair "window" is 8am to 8pm (yeah..), it's still up in the air.

Matt ~ I need a sponsor...help!

Neal ~ Where to start...first, if I am ever invited to stay at your house while on that side of the state, please don't expect me to sit in any chairs.  Seriously!  LOL.  Second, I don't think I will ever get the image out of my head of you sitting on the toilet with the chair across from you and the laptop sitting on it.  Thank you Anita!

Anita ~ I owe you a visual for that one!

Jeff ~ Please don't make me picture you in the bathroom blogging to Neal in the bathroom.  Darn, visual in.  Shoot!

This winter I lost my internet every time the temperature got below zero.  They finally fixed that and then when it warmed up, every time it rained, I lost it!  I even had to drive to the office to use it there one day.  I won't even stay in a hotel without internet service these days (and not dial up either!)  Blogging addiction and instant google information withdrawal is tough.

Check out this interesting video on installing wireless networks.  Very interesting and informative.

It also discusses backing up data.
