I found this free software program a few years ago when working on various websites. It is easy and FREE!
Take those huge pictures all of our cameras take, and shrink them down into a size you want with a click of a button. Do one out of a file, or the whole batch. Select the ones you want, hit "make" and go fill up your coffee cup. It'll be done by the time you're back!

I usually set my pictures to be a 800 x 600 size - small enough to load on various listing websites, but large enough to look good when consumers click to enlarge. (those blurry, pixelated pics that pop up when you load a really small thumbnail simply aren't very appealing) The program also allows for a prefix before the thumbnailed pic. I put a "1_" in front of all mine so they appear first in the folder.
You can even use it to stretch out some pics. Ever have a business card company that "has to" have the picture in 480 x 680, but yours is 400 x 600? Easy Thumbnails to the rescue.
Easy to use, easy to download, quick processing.
Makes life easy. Spread the joy.
