With what is going on at Goggle slapped and a pornographic image that was put on Mitch captains site I am considering banning anonymous posting.

I would not do this unless there is agreement from the guys and gals who post here.Any opinions on this at all?

 I am always uncomfortable with anonymous comments.  Occasionally someone might forget to sign their comments but, with the automatic signing, that isn't an excuse.  If someone doesn't want to be known, they should go somewhere else.

I think that you should have to be 'logged on' to post.

What about the porno? This is the first that I have heard of it.

I can see a reason for posting anonymous, but not the anonymous post I see here.

Mike.. I would imagine it may still be out there ,but you need to ask Mitch if it is posted else where.

I would just like to suggest that we delete anyone who comes on and attacks anyone or anything if they do not have ID.

It should be voluntary and of course the guy on Goggle slapped was just trying to stir up trouble among the associations .

Most stayed out of it ,which was the right thing to do.

Blog attacks on one or another are dumb and pointless so I hope we can all learn from this.

I did not delete that blog but apparently Mike did and can provide his own explanation.

The blog is still there.

I am not real Internet savvy so I am trying to take it off of the groups that I posted it to originally. It will still be out there because I feel that what ever I say or anyone else says that is false, etc.etc., will come back to them.

Mike and anyone who missed the original post from Kelly the founder on 7/12/07.

Kelly made me moderator on a suggestion from Viki that we needed someone who could feature posts in order to increase points.

There may be something to that as there seem to be more views since this went into effect.

If anyone feels a certain post deserves more attention let me know

I would not have asked Mike to remove that post as he may have got lots of points for that one.As they say any pub is good pub.

So far the most points that I have received has topped at 313 for one blog.

Bob and everyone here has to much class to ask anyone to remove anything. Besides he knows that it would be egging us on.

PS why does 'blog' always show as a misspelled word?

They must use an older dictionary,as it is a newer word,Still you would figure Microsoft to change something like that much faster.

Blog has not yet made it into the dictionaries.  Rewriting a dictionary takes a huge amount of time.  Words have to last to become added.  Blog is still  a very short lived word.

 For me it would take forever.  I don't know about the computer whizes.  Read the book The Meaning of Everythin.  It's about the writing of the Oxford English Dictionary, the first edition of which took something like 90 years to write.
