New Jersey Got Slammed
Well, I'm not sure if anyone knows it or not but we here in Northern New Jersey got slammed with a storm like I've never seen before in all my years of living here.
At least it wasn't snow......
The snow just melted away with this storm which in part, contributed to the flooding problems as the ground was already quite saturated....
The winds howled Saturday night and nearly took my roof off.
We received about 6.5 inches of rain since Friday and it's still raining today.
We just got our power back and I am lucky in that many others still do not have power yet. Our PSEG utility company is saying some people wont get it back till Thursday.
This house was right behind mine and as you can see the winds just pushed the tree right over.
The winds were whipping up to 70 miles per hour and just uprooted trees like they were sticks.
Just down the street our neighbors got flooded again... I feel terrible for these people.
We had a listing on the other side of this "pond".....
These scenes were repeated all across our areas. Many streets were closed and tree's fell onto houses all around our area.
It was one scary storm....
OMG! These photos tell the story better than anything in the news reports! I feel so badly for you all. Clean up will take some time....
BTW - Thanks for becoming a fan on my Facebook page - love your photo! LOL
Debi
... isnt it crazy ... unfortunately these shots could have been my neighborhood too ... terrible damage ... I just spent two days trying to bail oout of my flooded bsmt :o(
This is exactly what we have in NY. Trees just uprooted and dropping like flies...Amazing.
Unfortunatly, same pictures here in Middlesex County NJ. So many trees down...
Hi Robert some people really got hammered with this storm. It was winter's last howl. Lower Fairfield county got hit hard with at one time over 40,000 people without power. Here in CT the hghest rainfall was a little over 5", but parts of Ma got over 10". Mother Nature likes to remind us every now and then who really is in charge
Great pictures. I'm sorry you had so much to choose from... one of them alone would have been pretty impressive.
Good morning Robert,
I watched a news report last night on your terrible storm..you have really taken it on the chin this year in your area. I think Ed is right..mother nature is making a statement on who is in charge!
Kathy - Yes very extreme weather for here... Hopefully no more....
Debi - You of all people know the power of pictures... thanks for stopping by
Sheldon - I was in shock as I toured through some neighborhoods.... I've never seen anything like this in 50 plus years of living here... Sorry to hear about your basement...
