What should I write next? The Ultimate Guide to Ideas for Your Next Blog

lightbulb Everyone gets writer's block at some point. You blog, you blog, and you blog some more and then what. At some point the ideas run out. Some of you may have been patient and saved ideas on a list for future times, but for many of us there's just a void. I've searched Active Rain. I've searched google. I've bookmarked several posts just for occasions like this.

lightbulb Hopefully that should give you ideas. But my best advice is to READ, READ, READ. The more you read on the Rain the more you'll see what works and what doesn't. What is popular and not. What is liked and not liked so much etc. Write about what you like. And reading will help you refine it.

This a great post filled with some really great ideas (or at least links to them). Thanks for posting this one!

Angie, these are some good ideas for removing writers block. I would humbly add, however, that some bloggers should consider refraining from posting until they actually have something relevant to say to the group.

Angie, thanks for sharing your research. So many times, I sit and wonder about topic for AR. Now I often have paper and pen handy for you never know when the light bulb will try on. Great Post.

write about your local market, the conditions, the number of homes on the market the absorbion rate, prices, how fast a interesting house sold, or a interesting marketing approach used.

It looks to me like my post about writer's block inspired a handful of posts about writer's block.

That has become pretty clear. LOL. Looks like it's a hot topic even for some of us who have been blogging for ages.

Hi TLW... It is interesting. There have been a ton of posts on the topic recently. I just saw one from Rick & Ines and then I saw yours too. It's kind of like joking about everyone drinking the same water... I think we are all reading the same blogs or drinking the same active rain :)

Angie, You should link to this blog in your Active Rain newbie blog. I think writers block will always be around for both old and new bloggers. Good collection.

Hi Angie - many thanks for including the link to my post! Another series of posts to add to your list is the 'alphabet soup' series that Mariana Wagner has been posting. I think she has one more to go, covering the entire alphabet with all kinds of great ideas.

Great list to help out when we can't think of something to write about. I've bookmarked this to help me out!

Ann - I agree about adding Mariana's alphabet of ideas. I posted a comment on her first post and let her know that I planned to link to the series once she got to Z. I'm personally curious to see what all the X ideas are. Here I've got one.... X marks the spot (for certain features in town a subdivision, restaurant, activities etc)
