If you're like me you are probably getting about:

  • 75-100 EFlyers per day
  • 60-100 Spam Emails per day
  • 50-100 Emails that you WANT to receive

What's the solution to wasting a significant chunk of time wading through unwanted emails?

One product I've found - and my father (the Nuclear Physicist / Computer Programmer) has tested and given the thumbs up (not an easy award to get from him for tech products!) is CA Anti-Spam - formerly known as Qurb

(To avoid any confusion, this has nothing to do with Prince formerly know as the Artist formerly known as Prince.)

It operates on the "white list" principle - accepting emails from your white list address book and storing ALL others in a SPAM folder for you to review at your leisure and either add to your address book - or NOT!

It offers a free 30 day trial and was extremely simple to download, install and integrate into Outlook Express.  Any other White List Anti-Spam Software Solutions out there for consideration.

So what does the program do with emails from potential clients who are not already in your address book?  I would hate to miss out on the opportunity to connect with a brand new client.

Thanks for the head up on this program.  This is something worth checking out I think as my inbox has gotten way out of control.

Patti Ann - This is one of the great features of the program - it puts all "unknowns" in a folder for your review and disposition.  You still receive all the emails - it just strips them out from the emails you KNOW you want to receive.

Thanks for the heads up. I need to try something.  The e-flyers are getting ridiculous.  I have access to the MLS I do not need an e-mail from each of the 10,000 agents in our state and those from 50 other states to tell me about their listings.

That does not even count the other 100 to 200 spams a day I am getting.

Thank you Tony! I am so spammed out here. It seems I have an account open with every known and unknown bank in the US and I am in great danger of someone having access to all of my accounts.

Then there are the e-flyers!

Tony,

I guess I'm not as loved as the rest of you guys, because my spam isn't that bad, knock on wood.  I'm bookmarking this for when that day comes.

I'm concerned about overlooking an e-mail from someone who has changed their address, from new clients, from someone I don't know but would want to. I probably don't get quite as many flyers as the rest of you although I get plenty -- why send me a flyer on a house in Glendale!  I'm NOT coming down to your market to sell.

Hi Tony,

And here I thought I was just "lucky" when they email me to say I've just inherited several million dollars... :-)

My company has a great spam program.  It catches just about all of the garbage thank goodness. Sometimes it catches my clients, which is not a good sign, but in general it's the right thing to do.

Tony,

Thats great advice. I find when I post on craigslist and backpages I get a few new spammers targeting me.  As much as I like to put my contact info out there, I've started hiding my email address when I post on these public sites, although I still put my phone number and website on the post.

Spokane Washington Real Estate ExpertI haven't really got into spam programs yet, it seems I am more worried about not seeing an email. But I may have to check it out.
