ON SHAMROCK AND SALES!

ON SHAMROCK AND SALES!  Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!  As I was contemplating this day, I wanted to dig a little deeper on this traditional day.  Having only a small percentage of Irish blood in me (I'm sure we all have some!), I was curious to research the significance of the Shamrock.

What I discovered about this tiny little plant is that the famous Saint Patrict used this plant to teach the trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  I never knew the significance of the shamrock and was pleasantly surprised to learn of this.  The celebrating of St. Patrick's Day actually began as a Christian celebration but over the years has become secularized.

I also learned that the four-leafed clover and the shamrock are close relatives yet they are different plants.  The four-leafed clover has long been known as a symbol of luck.  When I was a little girl, I remember finding a huge patch of clover and finding about 20 four-leafed ones.  I saved them for many years and my father carried one in his wallet until it just fell apart.

As I pondered this St. Patrick's day and was reflecting on what I do for a living which is selling, I analogized this little plant with my career.  As real estate agents we must have a lot of faith in what we do.  We have been bombarded by the media for the past few years yet we have persevered.  Our industry has taken a hit at every turn yet we continue onward.

As the tiny plant the Shamrock comes back year after year, those of us in this industry will continue moving foward ever adapting to the changes in our market and poking our little heads up into the sunshine at every opportunity!

I am not one who believes in "luck", rather I believe in always doing my very best and with the utmost integrity.  Maybe a little "luck of the Irish" today will come my way however!  I wish you all the very best today and everyday and am sending you shamrocks of joy, peace and prosperity!

Paula, is another point to consider is that maybe you are not lucky but hard working? Because the harder I work, the luckier I get!

Of course, maybe my Irish heritage helps also!

Hi Paula -- nice post and good segue to real estate.

Mark, above, beat me to the quote (I've heard it attributed to Henry Ford, and also Thomas Edison--don't know who should get the credit.)

Thanks Mark and Lottie and yes, that quote is true indeed.  Most agents I know are some of the hardest working people around!
