Proposed STIMULUS package (Nude Beaches)

Proposed Stimulus Package

The economy is without question still in a tumultuous state. The American population waits anxiously for the Government to fix the problems, extend incentive programs, and insulate us from the harshness of reality. It is time for each of us to get creative and try to solve some of the problems that exist in our local communities.

I propose that we STIMULATE our local waterfront communities by instituting nude beaches. Nude beaches would create a draw from outside the area, bring tourists, increase spending at our local restaurants, shops, and hotels. Maybe the swimsuit shops would feel a little pain but the rest of the economy would prosper.

I am not being serious....but I do think that we need to start to think outside the box and come up with some local solutions to a worldwide problem. I hope that I made you chuckle a little bit today. Life is short, live, laugh, and play hard.

Puzzle:  Draw four straight lines (without lifting the pencil from the paper) which will cross through all 8 dots.

Thanks for the chuckle Tim.  I agree it is time to get creative!

President Kennedy said it best years ago...

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country".

...but also think most people are still angry that our government bailed out greedy banks and top heavy corporations rather than it's people.  Many folks are "frozen" from the dramtic turn of the economic times so the human spirit has naturally been affected and is still healing.

Personally, I feel that our great nation will pick up itself up and re-invent itself as a leader again because there is no place on this planet that is more diverse, gifted and open to opportunity.

God Bless America!

I agree 100% with Kris.  Except the tax credit is a joke with no punchline.

Cute post.  This nation has always been great because of the creative people who make up this country.  We can never lose sight of that and never allow passivity and apathy to take over.

Tim, Detroit is re-inventing it's downtown waterfront. It has been years in the making. They have replaced waterfront industrial with parks and walkways. The plan is for a five mile walkway to go from the Ambassador bridge (which connects the US with Canada) to Belle Isle on the East. To date, 3+ miles have been completed and it is drawing people to the downtown area. The walkway is directly outside the GM headquarters and passes through Hart Plaza. Throughout the summer this area is used to host many festivals and concerts on the waterfront.  Plans for a dock for cruise ships is in the development stages.   The waterfront is a piece of real estate that needs to be utilized to it's fullest potential.
