What a welcome and about me...

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Just yesterday I posted in my ActiveRain.com blog and I got a tremendous (in my opinion) response to a "I'm new here!" post.  I really enjoy being in communities where new comers are warmly welcomed, as it only encourages us to contribute to a great community.  So again, thank you for a warm welcome.

Who Am I?

I started in real estate in January of 2005, and joined Keller Williams Realty in the North Houston office.  As mentioned earlier, I enjoy communities that encourage a welcoming environment and the Keller Williams North office was just that.  I began a lengthy training process and rubbed elbows with some top producers at our office who were happy to give me some pointers on how to jump start my business.

I basically had to start my business from scratch.  Most of my family was against my decision to quit my job and deviate from the paycheck in order to pursue a vision that only I could see.  As stubborn as I was, I couldn't let a future of helping people achieve home ownership (including myself), an exciting opportunity at a wonder profit sharing system at Keller Williams, and the ability to surround myself with individuals that where were I wanted to be just pass me by.  There was no one at my previous employer that I felt I needed to model myself after.  No one.

My first year in real estate was a hard one.  I came from the technology industry, hence the Technology blog I maintain and my website I slaved over for quite some time.  I also was a perfectionist at heart.  I spent most of my first year in training learning scripts and the real estate model of Gary Keller from the Millionaire Real Estate Agent to a "T", or until I could recite them or their main principles with ease.  This held me back, of course, yet I was willing to take the sacrifice only short term.

Fast forward to this year and things are just steam rolling along.  I've implemented systems to to keep in touch with all clients (they each never lose touch with me).  I've also been invited to sit our our Agent Leadership Council to be our Technology Chairperson at our office, and am ranked #21 in production of 340+ agents at our office.  As you can see, I'm pretty proud of my accomplishments so far, and I'm working really hard to be the top producer in our region.

I have a strong sense of service for my clients, and I really take it personal when they don't have a great real estate experience.  Let this be a downfall, sure, yet I feel it adds to the service that I provide.  I also am able to offer bleeding edge technology and marketing to my clients, which I feel also adds to my value proposition.

This is an insight into my career so far.  The goals and models I have in place will eventually take me to another level where I can build a real estate business that runs without me, which I am extremely excited about.  I couldn't ask for a better place to begin my real estate career than Keller Williams Realty; they've inspired me with leadership, a urge to grow, and an overwhelming (in a good way) welcoming to new and experienced agents alike.

Until next time!

Thanks!  Just like my other online sites I visit, I plan to set aside time each day to write/comment on each.  I try not to spend more than 30 min. per site before and after work (it's more of a hobby to write than work, really).  I hope it doesn't take away from my business!
