I wrote a blog post a few weeks ago with tips on how I thought someone could get the most out of attending RainCamp.  I recommended bringing a laptop so you could surf the various sites the speaker with discussing.  Some agreed, and others though the laptop was too distracting and thought you should leave it at home.  If you have attended RainCamp in the past, what do you think - laptop or no?

I think there are pros and cons to having laptop at Rain Camp.  It depends how distracted somebody gets doing other things than just Rain Camp.

I went to Rain Camp Dallas recently. It's such an amazing learning experience. I'd recommend it to everyone!

I want to go to one of these!  I'll be in Vegas later in the month, too!  :(  I know there was one in NYC recently.  Any plans for Boston or NYC again soon?

If the deal makes sense, the cash will follow.

I can say yes AND no.

In Dallas, I brought my laptop and was in Platinum seating. But the Internet access was spotty, and I never once was able to connect.

I started by taking notes on a pad, then I moved to taking them in Word.

I think it's a good idea to do whatever it takes to be able to take notes and still pay attention to the information.

Hi Sara - I'm not bringing a laptop to RainCamp. Instead I'm reading a lot of posts about the other RainCamps to familiarize myself with the content, and hopefully that will leave me a little more time to network with the attendees.
