The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission was close to having to close its doors due to the shortage of food.  The residents of our amazing community once again heard the plea and responded with generosity.

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission serves 97,000 meals a year.

In the past year, it's seen a 65 percent increase in demand while experiencing a 35 percent decline in food donations.

Since Tuesday the mission has collected enough food to fill a 10 by 10 room, which is a huge relief and improvement compared to the shelves that were rapidly being empty.  Donations are still coming and it is so heartwarming to know I live in this amazing community.

Dont forget, donations are always needed, whether food or monetary, the mission is a staple to many.

We can't forget all the needy right here at home... I know the international disasters get all the attention-- but we need to give right here at home!  Kathy
