I remember when they built that for the Worlds Fair; that has become a major symbol for Seattle. My brother is a design engineer for Boeing; what a big place.
The Space Needle is truly a landmark in Seattle. I remember visiting some time ago and really felt it was a remarkable piece of architecture.
I think of all the worlds fairs through the years, the 1964 one when they introduced the space needle left behind one of the most memorable landmarks of all time. I can't think of another one as memorable as the space needle.
Todd, great photo of that memorable landmark!
The Eiffel Tower....some kind big event in Paris - right?
I love the Space Needle. Looking up or looking down. Or standing there Sleepless in Seattle.
Start a petition, Todd! I'll sign it! LOL
Debi
Todd, this is a group after my own heart! First, Debi on the ground at Sea World shooting daisies while her mother looks on aghast, and now you want to change the law so we can stop on the highway to take a great shot! Funny, I was thinking the same thing today when we were crossing the three-mile Buckman Bridge. The way it curves and rises would make such a great shot....if only I weren't flying by at 60+ mph. I actually was thinking how I could stop to take that shot! Birds of a feather......
Todd, so this is where you have been. I've wondered why it has been hard to get a hold of you, this explains a lot.
Hi Todd... I haven't been to Seattle in years, but I have always considered to be a great city for photographers... so scenic and such diversity of interesting subjects to shoot.
Todd,
Thanks for sharing this picture. I was at the Space Needle last year when visiting my son in Seattle. We had a great trip. I did not go to the top though because I prefer to be firmly planted on the ground. I loved the Underground Tour in Seattle. That was my favorite part of the trip.
Cal
Jim, that was a world's fair item also? Didn't realize that and haven't ever been there to learn its history.
