Keeping Commitments Can Be a Challange ...But We Should

By
Real Estate Agent with BCR Realtors 262359

Today I remembered telling myself I would take care of a responsibility before the day was over. A client had left a voice mail that said the information box in front of his home was empty. I had blogged once  before about the value of information boxes and  I sometimes feel they cause folks not to call.  Nevertheless, if you are going to have them on a property ......you need to keep them filled.  It looks bad when they are empty and reflects on the agent .

Anyway it is about 30 miles from my home to the property ....so I drive to town with my wife , take care of some shopping and then head towards home and realized I had forgotten to take care of the menial but important task of filling that flyer box!  The hour was late , we were tired, and my inclnation was to put it off as we had a long drive ahead of us.  But then that little voice said...  "no do what you came to do. Who .... the right buyer just might be turned on by those seductive and descriptive words "

So we turned the car around 180 degrees and headed to the property late at night to drop 30 peces of paper in a plastic box in the dark. I am crossing my fingers that the right person is going to get out of the car walk up to that 6  dollar  box, read my flyer, and call...... ;O)

Hi Trey... Good for you.  I do not believe in flyer boxes, but you're right... if you're gonna have 'em, keep 'em filled.

You'll sleep better, good job. Now I'm going to worry about the many things "not done" on my list, including an empty box or two.

Trey:

You were so right to remedy that situation.  When I see an empty brochure box it makes me think that the agent is neglectful. If the flyer box is there - it needs to be filled.

Claudette's comment above reminded me... I have a few SOLD signs that need new "too late" flyers to replace the originals!    I like letting people know that they may have missed this one but look at what else I have available :0)

Trey:  One of the things I admire most about you is that you are a man of your word.  Good for you for following through on this.  I hope it finds that listing a buyer.

Yes, by all means, be a person of your word. I enjoyed reading this post Trey because it makes the difference between someone who gets things done and someone who has the best intentions but lacks follow-through.
