Will $2500 Health Insurance Savings Spur Home Prices?

I'm really excited.  The average family is about to save an extra $2500/year on their health insurance premiums.

Do the math.  That's  $209/month.  That is the monthly principal and interest payment for a $40,000 thirty year mortgage at 4.75%.  That means that the average family will immediately be able to afford $40,000 more for a home!! Spread the word. If someone doesn't believe you, just have them watch the video below.

Now I didn't read through the entire healthcare bill that just passed but on this one I just have to trust what Obama said over and over throughout his campaign.  I really doubt that he would allow a bill to pass that didn't fullfill a promise that he repeated over and over.  Below is a video showing him repeating this pledge in a very honest and sincere manner.

I'm not quite certain what I will do with my savings. My wife is cynical about it all and thinks that we'll probably end up will higher premiums.  I keep telling her that these are savings we can believe in. I want to finally buy one of those big screen TVs.  She says no. I say, Yes We Can.   Obama wouldn't have lied to us. Would he?

I think I am going to have to err on the side of caution with your wife. hee hee. Great post. Maybe you can get one of those big screens on a tax free weekend or will we have anymore of those either?

Blessings for a great week!

Lisa, Don't burst my bubble.  I already named these savings.  I'm calling them Obama Bucks.

Have fun spending your savings Tim!  I believe that healthcare reform is going to help alot of families and to be honest, I'm surprised more agents haven't been in support.  As independent contractors and small business owners, we are one of the groups who need this most!

Lori,  I can't wait.  I think I'm going to call my insurance company and see when I can expect my bills to go down.

Jon, I think I figured out how it will play out.

When premiums instead go up by $2500, they will come out with a study that will show that if nothing was done, they would have gone up by $5000.  So that will be their rationale.  They saved us from a bigger increase.   It's the same thing when they talk about budget cuts.  It usually means that they will cut the anticipated increase in spending.  It doesn't actually mean a real cut like you and I would imagine.  I forgot that they speak a different language up there in Washington where "is" could have a variety of meanings. Stupid me.  I thought maybe things might have changed in that respect.
