With us trying to discover many new ways to market ourselves, our real estate signs are just one of the many ways people will view us for our creativity and our professionalism.

Some companies such as mine- let's you brand yourself so you have more freedom to be creative with your signs as long as you follow simple guidelines.  Some agents have their names on the signs, some have their photos along with their names. I myself use my name and have my email address on along with the contact number.

Some agents have their personal contact and photo on their riders. It's all a matter of preference and what is allowed by the broker. I believe that there are many ways to be creative with your signs to also draw attention not only to the listing but to you as a agent as well. there are riders you can get from your local board to  bring certain features to attention to those who are driving by such as "must see inside" or "5 bedroom home" for example. These are great but they are great for marketing the home not the agent!

I have seen some agents have a whole body shot on their signs. To me that is a little too much and I think it reflects an ego problem. However it doesn't seem to hurt the agent and they run with it. Others have just the basic sign with the company phone number.

So the question would be; do you feel there are any other ways to accent or to make your signs stand out and draw prospects? Our signs should not go UN-noticed or without regard as a great marketing tool.

obviously would be to add a website on a rider, but I am interested in what others might come up with. I will keep an eye on this blog.

thanks for sharing your ideas, regards, Charles

Some forget to align their offline and online marketing so that there is a unified, consistent, integrated marketing message.  For example, signage should carry the agent's website address (not just the brokerage's).

Our company has a standard look so all the signs are the same with a few variations on the rider.  The format you show with a photo, name and number is an option but I think it is a little to busy.  I use two riders hanging vertically under the main sign, first rider has my name and below it my cell number.  This provides larger text so people can read it better while driving.   Balloons are always eye catchers on signs but I have never used any.

Photo VS no photo. I'm often in the same conversation concerning business cards. A good honest photo has it's place, but a dated fashion shot is dishonest. If the property behind the realty sign is attractive to potential buyers, they will respond to the sign regardless of the sign's relative appeal.

I also know as an up and coming idea that I have seen the reflective style signs as well, where you can see them much more clearly at night than the usual reflection. They are much more expensive but I haven't seen too many in my area per say.

I have used balloons for the open houses but not as a regular use-
